The connect2 Shoreham Harbour Bridge Replacement project is one of 79 Connect2 schemes nationally. The project aims to replace the existing footbridge spanning Shoreham Harbour from Shoreham Town Centre to Shoreham Beach.
The existing bridge was built in the 1920s and is now nearing the end of its working life. The new bridge will be wider, allowing use by both pedestrians and cyclists.
Osborne have been contracted to design and build the new footbridge. It is expected that the new bridge will be open in the summer of 2013.
BPH Equipment have supplied Red 7 Marine a 120ton Crawler Crane that is been used on one of there own flat top barges. Red 7 Marine has been contracted by Osbornes to assist in the installation of the main bridge supports.Back to news
